Madonna Cancels German Dates
FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) – Madonna canceled two concerts in Colognethat were to launch her first world tour in eight years, and will instead open the tour in Barcelonaon June 9, organizers announced.
“Due to technical problems the show will not be able to start before Barcelona,” Madonna’smanager Caresse Henry said in a statement issued April 4 by the Marek Lieberberg concertagency. The problems were not detailed.
The Drowned World tour was scheduled to open June 5. German fans will be able to catch Madonna during four shows in Berlin on June 19, 20, 22, 23.
The Grammy winner is scheduled to perform in London, Paris, Philadelphia, New York andAtlanta, with a final stop in Los Angeles on September 9.
The 42-year-old pop star last went on tour eight years ago with The Girlie Show.
