Womack is riding high on her hit album I Hope You Dance and single of the same name. The record is only the second of her fledgling career as a performer, though she spent several years in the songwriting stables of Nashville.

She’s honed her stage persona over the last three years as an opener for not only the high-profile George Strait fest, but also for other country stars such Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Collin Raye, and Clay Walker.

Womack has performed her share of showcases and club dates over the years, but the upcoming outing will be her first large-scale roadshow under her own steam.

She so far has 54 dates lined up to keep her in front of audiences through late October, mainly on the fair circuit.

The Jacksonville, Texas, native blends traditional and contemporary country influences – nurtured by her country DJ father who brought her along to the studio as a child.

“I’ve always had a mix of real traditional and real bluegrassy things, but there’s also always been very contemporary stuff,” Womack said of her latest album.

“This time, I wanted to push both sides further out and see just how far country music can go and still be country music.”
