Singer/songwriter Rob Thomas, guitarist Adam Gaynor, guitarist/vocalist Kyle Cook, bassist Brian Yale and drummer Paul Doucette kick off their summer fun in Fargo, N.D., July 31 and keep going without any significant breaks until September 29.

The 31-date tour is just the latest chapter in the success story that started when the single “Push” found its way to radio in the spring of 1997. Matchbox twenty’s debut album, Yourself or Someone Like You, went on to sell more than 10 million copies, and we all know what happened when Thomas hooked up with Carlos Santana in 1999.

The band released its sophomore album, mad season with matchbox twenty, a year ago and has toured constantly to support it.

The hard work has paid off in a big way. The disc is well into the multiplatinum range and the band continues to do big numbers at the concert box office at a time when some of last summer hot acts are finding their appeal has cooled down.
