Bennett and country-gone-pop chanteuse k.d. lang will hit sheds and theatres this summer for an extensive North American tour, coincidentally helping Bennett celebrate his 75th birthday in August. Launching in July, the outing will take the pair to at least 22 cities. More are expected to be added shortly.

The tour marks a reunion for Bennett and lang, who first blended voices for a duet on the standard “Moonglow” for Bennett’s 1994 MTV Unplugged live album, which won the album of the year Grammy the following year.

Bennett is effusive about his touring partner. “She is one of the finest singers I have ever heard and she is a great person as well,” he said of lang.

Lang is equally generous with praise of Bennett. “It’s all about singing and I am totally excited. It is a great opportunity as a vocalist to work with a legend such as Tony.”
