While management was quick to point out the band is only discussing the possibility right now, chances are “pretty good” that Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. will be back.

The Elevation Tour, in support of U2’s latest album, All That You Can’t Leave Behind, has grossed approximately $54 million to date and will likely gross more than $115 million by the end of its European run.

Compared to Pop Mart and Zoo TV, the Elevation outing is almost minimalist. Gone are the multistory video screens and in its place, a bare stage and a heart-shaped catwalk that allows Bono to interact more intimately with fans.

Even though U2’s U.S. tour has reached its end the band’s music will reverberate in the States for awhile. There’s a U2 tune on the “Tomb Raider” movie soundtrack and the video for “Elevation,” features scenes from the upcoming movie, with the band members interacting with heroine Lara Croft.
