If you go to a Disco Biscuits concert expecting to hear a typical jam band, you’re in for a surprise. The Biscuits are a rave-friendly bunch of genre-bending musicians and they’re taking the jam scene to the next level.
Incorporating the usual dance music amalgamation (disco, house, techno, dub, etc.), the Biscuits also throw in influences of jazz, classical, psychedelic rock, and blues to come up with a sound they call “trancefusion.” Their fans, however, tend to refer to the unique style as “Bisco.”
The Disco Biscuits will play small halls and theatres across the States September 4 – 21. Although the band has played in the support slot moe., The Black Crowes, Taj Mahal, Morphine, and Lake Trout, this latest tour will find them headlining their own shows.
