Foo Fighters Cancel Euro Dates
According to reports coming out of the U.K., Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins has been hospitalized for an “overindulgence.” His illness has forced the band to cancel the remaining dates of their European tour, including their show with U2 at Slane Castle outside Dublin.
Shows affected are Braga, Portugal (August 21); London, U.K. (August 27); Edinburgh, Scotland (August 30); and Dublin, Ireland (September 1).
According to a statement from the band’s management, Hawkins “overindulged” during the weekend V2001 Festival in Chelmsford, U.K., where the band performed on August 19.
Although spokespersons for the band deny that the “overindulgence” was an overdose as the rumors indicate, they offered no further information on what happened to the drummer.
Hawkins was admitted to an undisclosed hospital the morning of August 20, following the band’s performance at the V2001 festival. He is reported to be in stable condition.
