Tenaciously Funny
Now the duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass have set up a tour that takes their show out of the Big Apple and into the clubs and halls of America.
It has become tradition over the years at Tenacious D’s live shows for a special individual to introduce the band. Past announcers have include Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and Ed Robertson from Barenaked Ladies.
For the upcoming tour, Tenacious D is extending that very same opportunity to their fans. By logging onto www.tenaciousd.com, fans can submit their M.C. stylings for a chance to win an opportunity to introduce the band at an upcoming show.
Part late-night cable show shtick, part locker room humor, and part acoustic-metal gods, Tenacious D’s act is certainly unique, to say the least. The twosome started out hosting a comedy show on HBO that was canceled after four episodes despite its popularity.
They use their acting skills (both appeared in “Bio Dome” and “The Cable Guy,” while Black starred in “High Fidelity” as the record store clerk) in conjunction with a keen sense of the funny and their musical abilities to put on a live show unlike any other.
Tenacious D’s self-titled debut album hits stores September 25.
