Blues Traveler Rolls On
A few tour dates will find the group at festivals. On September 22 in New Orleans, the guys jam at the Southern Comfort Hurricane Festival along with Ratdog, Cowboy Mouth, Cracker, and Old 97’s, to name a few.
The next day, the Blues men travel down to Florida for the Music Harvest Festival, where they share the stage with G. Love & Special Sauce, Ratdog, Little Feat, and Big Sky.
Blues Traveler began their musical acclimation as a humble high school band, practicing in their parents’ basements in the late ‘80s. After following the route of club, frat house, and party performances, they were discovered and signed to a record deal
The group has released seven albums (the latest, Bridge, came out in April), founded and saw the subsequent demise of the H.O.R.D.E. Festival, won a Grammy, and mourned the loss of a founding member. Through it all, they’ve remained influential figures in the jam band scene.
Along with touring with the band, lead singer John Popper and guitarist Chan Kinchla venture out on their own September 25.
The two will participate in An Evening Of Music For Reproductive Freedom benefit concert in Washington, D.C. The proceeds go to Voters for Choice, the nation’s largest independent pro-choice political action committee.
