A Festival With A Silver Lining
The Silver Lining Silverlake festival has grown quite a bit since the inaugural concert last year. The fund-raising event has expanded to three days, taking place in two locations in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles.
Although there a number of major headliners on the bill, the full lineup is still in formation.
The first night, December 13, features Sting, Elton John, Nortec Collective, and Deborah Falconer as performers, with Robert Downey Jr. hosting. Like last year, it will be held at the Paramour Estate. Ticket prices range from $250 to $1000.
The Paramour Estate also hosts the following night’s festivities. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Aimee Mann, Jaugares, and others will perform. MTV’s Johnny Knoxville, pro skater Tony Hawk, and surfer Kelly Slater are hosting for the evening, with tickets priced the same as the previous night.
Rounding things up on December 15 are Jurassic 5 and Hedwig of stage and film fame (played by Donovan Leitch Jr.) with Academy Award-winner Benicio Del Toro serving as host. The event switches venues to the 4100 Bar on Sunset Blvd. Ticket prices are markedly lower at $75.
Benefitting the Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic, the Silver Lining Silverlake festival raised more than $488,000 last year. Beck, Aimee Mann, Rufus Wainwright and others participated in the one-night show that attracted 1,600 people.
Tickets go on sale November 4 through Ticketmaster.
