Dates through October 26 are off the books but the band will perform shows closer to the Boulder area, including four Leftover Salmon And Friends benefit concerts November 14-17 in Colorado. The shows will raise funds for Vann’s medical expenses.

“The idea is to have lots of friends come to Colorado to pick and celebrate music and life, and show our love and support for Mark,” the band stated. “We will be joined by musician friends from all over and will post them (on www.leftoversalmon.com) as they are confirmed.”

So far, multi-instrumentalist Sam Bush (founder of New Grass Revival) is slated to appear at the November 14-15 gigs at the Fox Theatre in Boulder and the Yonder Mountain String Band will open the November 17 show at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver.

Leftover Salmon have become so popular within the jam band community, more musicians will undoubtedly join the benefit shows to show support for Vann. The banjo virtuoso was recently diagnosed with melanoma and began cancer treatment October 15. He hopes to perform at the benefit gigs.
