Inspired by a quote from singer/songwriter Phil Ochs that states “the perfect rock outfit would be a combination of Elvis and Che Guevara,” The (International) Noise Conspiracy united with the goal of marrying old-school punk rock with ultra political lyrics.

The members left their other bands to form Noise Conspiracy in 1998 and released a series of five 7-inch singles in 1999. That year also found the band on the road for two tours in Scandinavia, an illegal 15-gig run in China (can anyone say guts?), and a European swing.

Somewhere in there, they managed to find time to get in the studio and record their debut, Survival Sickness, which was released in 2000.

More tours of Europe and the States ensued, sharing stages with The Hives, At The Drive In, J Mascis & The Fog, Sunshine, Rocket From The Crypt, and Murder City Devils, among others.

Their new album, A New Morning, Changing Weather, is set for release in Europe October 15 and in the States on the 23rd.
