The multimedia star released his fifth album last November with the release of Genesis, which debuted at No. 2 on SoundScan’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop chart and has sold more than 600,000 copies.

The title of the album is a nod to Busta’s music life coming full circle. “I always wanted my albums to have some kind of connection,” he explained. “So first there was The Coming, which was the warning, then I had When Disaster Strikes, and then when the aftermath comes there’s Extinction Level Event and that leads to Anarchy,” he says, ticking off his albums.

“But now it’s time for me and everyone to have a new beginning,” thus Genesis.

Along with cranking out the hits, Busta has taken some time in recent years to beef up his acting resume. He appeared in the 2000 film “Finding Forrester” with Sean Connery and has a lead role in the upcoming “Halloween 8” as well as a bit part in “Narc.”
