Prince & The New Power Generation (NPG) set off on the 2002 Package tour March 1 with a show in Saginaw, Mich. The troupe hits Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit, Louisville and Cleveland for their first spate of dates.
According to Prince, “members of the NPGMC [New Power Generation Membership Club] will b given shots at the best seats. 2 make sure u get ur chance, renew ur membership when the new club launches next week. We will send an emale 2 all the members as soon as it’s ready 2 go and as soon as the pre-sales r about 2 begin.”
Prince had promised a full tour last year in support of his new album, The Rainbow Children, but somewhere along the way, he changed his mind. Seven shows into the tour, he up and quit, leaving no explanation despite positive ticket sales.
