Catering to a “sexy, mature audience,” the stripped-down show – void of bungee chords, pyrotechnics and back-up dancers – will feature special guests including saxophonists Maceo Parker and Candy Dulfer. Much of the evening’s performance will feature songs off his recent album, The Rainbow Children, but will also include classic Prince tunes. Ever the surprise himself, Prince is winging the concerts, having opted out of traditional set lists.

Along with his tour, Prince’s NPG (New Power Generation) Music Club is entering its second year and will be offering members special goodies such as soundcheck access and after-show parties.

“Members of the NPGMC [New Power Generation Membership Club] will b given shots at the best seats. 2 make sure u get ur chance, renew ur membership when the new club launches next week. We will send an emale 2 all the members as soon as it’s ready 2 go and as soon as the pre-sales r about 2 begin,” one announcement said.

Prince had promised a full tour last year in support of his new album, The Rainbow Children, but somewhere along the way, he changed his mind. Seven shows into the tour, he up and quit, leaving no explanation despite positive ticket sales.
