Ozzy, continuing on his Down To Earth World Tour, will give a solo set accompanied by his backing band (Zakk Wylde, Robert Trujillo and Mike Bordin) and perform on a top secret staging set that “promises to be his biggest production ever.”

System Of A Down, P.O.D., Drowning Pool, Adema, Zakk Wylde’s Black Label Society and a new band featuring Chris Cornell, Tim Commerford, Tom Morello, and Brad Wilk take over the mainstage duties.

The Cornell/Commerford/Morello/Wilk project has yet to announce their band name but that hasn’t stopped them from being a highly anticipated show. Comprising members of Soundgarden and Rage Against The Machine, the four have been jamming together since last year and have created quite a buzz.

The second stage headliner is Rob Zombie, who’ll be playing a “stripped down, bare bones ‘jeans and T-shirt’ set.”

Other bands on the list are Meshuggah, The Apex Theory, Lost Prophets, Pulse Ultra, and Neurotica. Splitting the tour in half are Flaw, Mushroomhead, 3rd Strike, Otep, Seether, Glassjaw, Used, Soil, Ill Nino, and Chevelle.

Ozzfest has linked up with the World Wrestling Foundation this year and as a result, pro wrestlers will appear at tour stops. Wrestlers will be announcing artists as well as giving out autographs in the Village Of The Damned concession area.

Speaking of the Village, the usual freak-show exhibits (piercing booths, tattoo parlors and the like) and exhibitionists will be on hand.

In the meantime, the overseas leg of Ozzfest 2002 will start making its way around Europe beginning in May. Bands like Bad Religion, Tool, Slayer, System Of A Down and, of course, Ozzy are on the bill.
