Bonna-what?
Plans for the first annual Bonnaroo music festival are quickly falling into line. The newly created three-day festival, which spans June 21-23, seeks to become the ultimate camping and music event as it unites the American grassroots rock community. The eclectic roster includes groups like Widespread Panic, Trey Anastasio, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Triple Threat DJ , and The North Mississippi Allstars, among others.
Held on a 500-acre farm 60 miles southeast of Nashville, Bonnaroo will feature two stages as well as a pair for tents for late night performances. In addition to the musical activities, there will also be a festival village housing arts, amusements, vendors, and special events.
A special ticket price of $100 is being made available for one week, beginning March 23, through www.bonnaroo.com and participating artists’ Web sites. Each ticket is good for all three days of music and includes parking and camping fees. The ticket will be a specially designed souvenir ticket. From March 30 onward, ticket prices will then increase every few weeks. Ticketmaster’s on-sale dates don’t begin until April 6.
