Hop On The Short Bus
Fans of Sublime and Long Beach Dub Allstars should be pleased to know there is yet another side project by some of the members taking to the road. Long Beach Short Bus – a group consisting of Eric Wilson (Sublime/Long Beach Dub Allstars), RAS1 (Long Beach Dub Allstars), Kelly Vargas (Sublime), and Trey Pangborn (Falling Idols) – is ready to get rolling on their first tour. The band sticks to mostly West Coast territory initially and ventures into Idaho, Utah, Colorado and Arizona during the latter bit of their outing, which stretches from April 18 through May 2.
Short Bus was formed as a one-off side project when Wilson and RAS1 wanted to play at a benefit show for the book release of Brad Nowell – Crazy Fool last year. Nowell was the former lead singer of Sublime who tragically died of a heroin overdose in 1996.
After the book release show, Short Bus began playing local gigs.
They’re currently recording an album at Wilson’s home studio in Long Beach, Calif. No word on the release date though.
