Nickelback have tapped
Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains fame to help them out with the U.S. leg of their latest tour. Nickelback and Cantrell head out May 13 and rock on through the end of July. Cantrell drops off at the beginning of July, however, leaving Nickelback to do their own thing for the rest of the month.
June 1, 2, 7, 24 and July 1, 6-7 are all radio-sponsored shows in which Nickelback will appear but Cantrell will not.
Nickelback just wrapped their European blitz and are now joined up with the MTV Campus Invasion tour. Along with Injected and former tourmates Default, the band will be hitting college campuses nationwide through the beginning of May. All this road-bonding is in support of their album Silver Side Up, which has spawned a string of hits, including “How You Remind Me.”
Cantrell, on the other hand, is on his first outing for the year in support of his second album, Degradation Trip, which is due out June 25. Cantrell spent the greater part of 2001 on the road with Swarm and M.I.R.V., hitting club hot-spots around the States. At that time, it had been three years since he was last on the road.
