Dates and venues are still being firmed up, but Locobazooka! United We Rock looks to visit 16 smaller markets before wrapping July 21. More bands are expected to be added to the roster as well.

Ticket prices are in the neighborhood of $20.

The flagship Locobazooka! festival is held annually in Worcester, Mass. Over the years, Locobazooka! has presented bands and performers like Godsmack, Limp Bizkit, Staind, System Of A Down, and Kid Rock with the opportunity to perform in front of arena-sized audiences early on in their careers when they might otherwise not be playing for such numbers. Now, with Locobazooka! taking to the road, festival organizers hope to bring big name bands that would generally only play major markets to the smaller cities.

In other festival news, another similarly named outing, Lollapalooza, has just announced that it’ll be yet another year before it hits the road again. Citing a late start in the plans, festival organizer Perry Farrell is now looking to 2003 to resurrect the event, which fell off the festival wagon in 1997.
