In conjunction with their tour, Bernie Worrell & The Woo Warriors are celebrating the release of their latest project, True Dat. A pair of live DVDs are also slated for release in May.

“I am extremely happy to finally be able to take my band out for some extended road work,” said Worrell. “I’ve done so much over the years helping others that I’d like everyone to come out and support The Woo Warriors.

Best known as a founding member of the supergroup Parliament-Funkadelic, keyboardist Worrell has had his fingers in many other artists’ work. He joined The Talking Heads in the ‘80s as a session man and eventually went on tour with them, working with David Byrne and the band right up until their split.

More recently, Worrell has just wrapped some shows in Japan with Jack Bruce of Cream; played select gigs with the Black Jack Johnson Project band, which features Mos Def; and reunited with The Talking Heads for their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction.

All this in addition to his own solo career and that with his Woo Warriors band. Worrell never rests.
