Features
Hookahville 2002
The ninth annual Spring Hookahville Festival is set for Memorial Day weekend. Spearheaded by Ekoostik Hookah, the two-day-long event features guests like Railroad Earth; Umphrey’s McGee; Medeski, Martin & Wood; Bela Fleck & The Flecktones; and Bruce Hornsby.
Tickets are set at $60 through Acoustic Productions (pre-sale) and $70 through Ticketmaster.
Camping is available, including a quiet area set aside for families with children and those who prefer a more peaceful night’s rest.
Hookahville follows the increasingly popular summer “campout” style festivals and actually preceded Gathering Of The Vibes – a Grateful Dead-inspired event that started in 1996.
Ekoostik Hookah, a self-promoted Ohio jam band favorite, has been staging the bi-yearly events since 1994. Spring versions occur over the Memorial Day holiday, while Labor Day weekend hosts the fall set.
Hookahville 2002 runs May 24-25 at the Buckeye Lake Music Center in Thornville, Ohio.
