Moby’s latest album, 18, was released mid-May and is already at the top of the charts globally. The disc has garnered rave reviews from critics and consumers alike, making the musician one of the hottest acts on the market.

Although his European outing is set to wrap November 30 in Scotland, if it proves as hot a ticket as the tour supporting his Play album was, Moby may opt to add additional shows. Initial dates supporting Play were to last six months, but due to a positive response from fans to the album, Moby ended up extending the tour and stayed out on the road for a total of two years.

Leading up to his autumn European stint, Moby will be taking his Area festival out on the road again – this time for version 2. kicks off July 28 and features the likes of David Bowie, Busta Rhymes, Blue Man Group, Ash, John Digweed, Carl Cox and others.

In between hosting “Senor Moby’s House of Music” on MTV2, making a new album, promoting that album and planning the Area2 festival, Moby is one busy techie. He’s also a regular (read: daily) contributor to his Web site, moby.com, making journal entries, drawing pictures, and contributing the occasional rant on the condition of the world.

Select shows on Moby’s European tour are already on sale.
