Rancid And Blink-182 Transplanted
Taking members from Rancid and Blink-182, and grafting them into the Transplants, this new band gets set to take on the California club scene with a series of shows beginning July 20. With a little help from Rancid bassist Matt Freeman on the eight-date tour, guitarist Tim Armstrong (Rancid), drummer Travis Barker (Blink-182) and vocalist Rob Aston will rock the masses as they preview their upcoming debut album.
Joining the motley crew on the trek is Los Angeles-based band, The Distillers. Lead by Brody Armstrong, Tim Armstrong’s wife, The Distillers will whet fans’ punk appetites as they open the show.
Meanwhile, drummer Barker is keeping his hyper-active self plenty busy these days. In addition to his primary band, Blink-182, which just wrapped a tour with Green Day, and work with the Transplants, he’s got yet another side project, Box Car Racer. That band, which also includes fellow Blinker Tom DeLonge, recently released their debut album.
