The Golden Age Of Beck
Beck is leaving the turntables home this August as he embarks on a rare, solo acoustic tour around the States. Right now, dates span the entire month, and a post on his official Web site promises more to come in San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, which aren’t on the current itinerary.
Beck is offering advanced tickets for select dates beginning July 10 through his Web site, beck.com. Details will be available starting at 9:45 a.m. Pacific time, 15 minutes before tickets go on sale.
The new outing is in celebration of Beck’s upcoming album. The still untitled record is due to drop September 24. Each week up to the release date, Beck’s site is offering streaming audio clips of the new tunes, starting with “The Golden Age.”
Other than a few benefit shows and one-off appearances here and there, it’s been a good two years since Beck toured. The last outing saw Beth Orton, Hank III, and Café Tacuba supporting the mixmaster.
