The band’s itinerary runs into October, with stops at amphitheatres and arenas around the States. Car-maker Acura is sponsoring a handful of the shows, including those in Philadelphia, Boston, Holmdel, New York, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, and San Diego.

For its part, Acura will be giving away prizes including concert tickets, guitars, and an opportunity to meet Carlos and the band. The company will also present a donation to Santana’s favorite charity, the Milagro Foundation.

Jam band Rusted Root are set to open shows through August.

Thanks to their constant presence on the touring scene, Santana recently nabbed the No. 25 slot on POLLSTAR’s Ticket Sales Chart for the first half of 2002.

The new tour will find Santana promoting a new album, Shaman, which will be released sometime this year.
