The tour was originally scheduled to start at the end of July but Morrissey was forced to cancel or postpone the entire first week. A statement from guitarist Boz Boorer said that problems with obtaining work permits were to blame for the delay.

Rock en EspaƱol band Jaguares will be supporting for a couple of gigs while King Cheetah are onboard for most of the ride.

Although he has a rabid cult following in the States, it’s been more than two years since Morrissey has toured on U.S. soil. Fans can expect to hear his classic Morrissey material, as well as some new tunes from an untitled album.

The maestro is currently in the market for a record label.

While waiting for the new album to drop, fans can check out Volume 2 of the Singles Box series. Volume 1, released last year, chronicle Moz singles between 1988-91.

Volume 2 picks up where its predecessor left off and tracks singles from 1991-95. The nine-CD pack includes the tracks “We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful,” and “The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get.”
