Box Car Racer On Track
Blink-182 side project, Box Car Racer, along with Utah-based rockers The Used and New York punk rockers H2O, are revved up and ready to show off some new tunes on the road. The three bands have a jam-packed four-week schedule on the books, launching October 22 in California and tackling theatre-sized venues in major markets across the States.
Headed by Blink-182’s guitarist Tom DeLonge and drummer Travis Barker, Box Car Racer’s self-titled debut album was released in May. Although they’ve performed some one-off gigs mostly on the West Coast, this marks the relatively new band’s first national tour.
Blink-182 and Box Car Racer apparently aren’t enough to keep Barker busy; he’s a member of yet another side-project, the Transplants. The group, including Tim Armstrong of Rancid, recently wrapped a co-bill tour with the Distillers.
The joint tour was kind of a no-brainer since the Transplants’ Armstrong is married to the Distillers frontwoman, Brody Armstrong.
The Used’s self-titled debut was released in June. They’re currently on Ozzfest through mid-September.
