The tour will also feature a screening of “Watching Paint Dry” – a film by artist collaborative the Barnstormers, which utilizes digital time-lapse photo technique to capture every shift in an ever-changing painted image.

Now, back to the music: Galactic is debuting material from their upcoming album, as well as freshly rendered cover selections. After the Sight Of Sound tour, they’ll head back into the studio to begin work on a new album.

Kid Koala, North Mississippi Allstars and Mofro will share opening slots. Other DJs will also appear in select cities.

Fans of The Smashing Pumpkins, Busta Rhymes and Wynton Marsalis might recognize SKW’s artwork from the musicians’ stage sets, Web sites, and albums. The New York-based artist is joined by fellow New Yorker Doze Green on the tour. An original member of the infamous Rock Steady Crew, Doze has directed several videos by hip-hop artists, including Mos Def and Common. In addition to his filmography, he uses paint and sculpture to explore the human condition.

Those wanting to take home a piece of SKW and Doze can check out the T-shirt stands out front. Their artwork will appear throughout the tour on original merchandise and posters.

The Sight Of Sound tour runs from October 30 through November 23 and sticks to the Eastern half of the States.
