The Growing Up Live venture commences in Atlanta and is set to play 20 cities so far. A few more dates are expected to be announced shortly.

Gabriel will perform new material from Up along with his hit songs from throughout his career. The arena production will feature a center stage developed by director/designer Robert Le Page who designed Gabriel’s 1993 Secret World Live Tour.

The Growing Up Live band includes guitarist David Rhodes, multi-instrumentalist Richard Evans, bass player Tony Levin, keyboardist Rachel Z, drummer/percussionist Ged Lynch, and vocalist Melanie Gabriel.

His new album finds Gabriel exploring the theme of vertical design (up and down) as it affects daily life. He draws upon the influences of the moon and water to “provide a backdrop for forces at work above and beneath our normal focus.”

Tickets go on sale beginning September 28 and range from around $45 up past $125. As a co-founder of the international human rights organization Witness, Gabriel will donate $1 from every ticket to this group. Witness focuses on strengthening the work of local human rights advocates by providing them with communications technology.
