Do expect a blend of jazz, blues, ambient and funk all wrapped up in a jam groove that has generated a lot of attention since the band’s debut two years ago.

The foursome started out playing San Francisco Bay boat parties in October 2000 and were soon working the West Coast club circuit. In less than two short years, Particle has trekked cross-country, playing with bands as varied as Widespread Panic and Ween.

The band has played some high profile festivals this year – including the Bonnaroo campout – that have helped boost its visibility and earn it a following of Particle People.

Next up is the Austin City Limits Festival September 27 and 28, a special appearance with The B-52’s at the in New York City October 2, and an anniversary party three days later at the Knitting Factory in West Hollywood, Calif.

And after that flurry of early October events, Particle heads for a full-on, coast-to-coast club caravan kicking off October 18 at the Belly Up Tavern near San Diego.

There will be at least 20 shows, with stops in in Minneapolis, Chicago, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Boston, Philadelphia and Atlanta before the Particle comes to a rest November 22 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
