Flurry Of Metal Heads
Enter Ill Nino, Otep, 3rd Strike, and Noise Therapy. The four bands are the latest in a new wave of metal-minded bands hitting the road and charts. Starting November 24, they’ll unleash their heavy beats on American clubs.
The tour brings the festival spirit indoors for winter.
With most members of South American descent, Ill Nino are of a rare but rising breed of Latin rockers. Although they sing in both English and Spanish, they are in no way limited to bilingual audiences. The band spent the first half of the year supporting Drowning Pool in the States and then gave European crowds a run for their money on the Ozzfest tour.
Otep have been getting the “buzz” treatment as of late. Female singer and band namesake Otep assembled her crew only a couple of years ago in Los Angeles and soon scored a record deal with Capitol Records. The band are dark and mysterious, and provide ample fodder for rumors that include cannibalism and mystic arts.
Both Noise Therapy and 3rd Strike have worked to earn their touring stripes. This year, they supported Flaw together on a late summer run. Earlier, 3rd Strike had been out with Rob Zombie and Machine Head.
