The rapper will play “principal for the day” to 12 schools across the States starting November 11.

Among the responsibilities Jay-Z will take on in his new position are addressing the student body, holding open forums, and other daily principal-type duties. In the evening, he’ll take the stage at a small venue and perform for around 300 people. The shows will be limited to contest winners as well as fans who will be given the opportunity to buy tickets at a local retailer, which will be announced the morning of the show.

Schools will compete for the prize via “spirit” contests hosted by specific radio stations. The morning of each tour stop, the radio station will announce which school has won the opportunity to host Jay-Z for the day.

The tour is in support of Jay-Z’s upcoming album, The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse, which is due out November 12.
