According to a press release, Copeland fell while bike riding on a path near his home in Los Angeles. He fractured his arm but is expected to recover shortly and join the band for the Vegas performance.

For those scratching their heads thinking “I thought the Doors were dead 30 years ago,” the band has indeed been resurrected this year. Although they are obviously minus Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger have nabbed Cult frontman Ian Astbury (vocals) and Copeland to round out the new group formation.

The Doors plan to embark on a spring tour and will visit U.S. and European summer festivals. There’s also talk of a new album to be released in the fall. Details are forthcoming.
