The Forty Licks tour will mark the Stones’ first shows in their homeland in four years.

Additional gigs are planned for the rest of Europe, including Croatia and Yugoslavia, but details have yet to be announced.

If the Stones’ popularity is anything in Europe like it is in the States, fans will be snapping up tickets in record time. The band’s North American run – which continues through mid-February – started in September and has seen packed houses every night.

Tickets for the European run go on sale starting December 6.

Unlike previous tours, the band will be playing a mixture of venues, stopping by arenas, stadiums, theatres, and clubs. In some markets, fans will have the opportunity to see three totally different shows in different-sized venues.

The tour will make use of three completely different productions and setlists, furthering the band’s efforts to mix things up. All concerts will feature a significant set of classic Rolling Stones hits as well as new songs.
