In conjunction with National Resources Defense Council (NRDC), the Stones are staging the event to raise awareness about global warming and to spotlight the opportunities that exist right now to start fixing the problem.

So, wanna get tickets? Around 20,000 lucky fans will be chosen from a sweepstakes to attend the gig. Those interested can register for two free ducats at nrdcstonesconcert.org, or they can do things the old-fashioned way and mail in a postcard. Either way, entries must be received by January 6.

Winners will then be selected at random and announced the week of January 13.

“The Rolling Stones’ commitment will help build unprecedented support for NRDC efforts to fight global warming,” NRDC president John H. Adams said. “The Rolling Stones deserve a standing ovation for putting the environment on center stage.”

NRDC is a leading force in environmental concerns, striving to make the air cleaner, water safer, and protect the wilderness.
