That’s just what happened when rap star DMX tried to perform in Canada this past weekend, AP Radio reports. He had a pair of concerts set for this weekend in the cities of Saskatoon and Calgary, but customs officials refused to let him off his flight when it landed in Calgary, though they approved the other six people in his entourage.

Customs officials in Canada wouldn’t say why they turned DMX away. But the rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, has had his share of run-ins with the law in the United States.

For now, the venues where he was to perform are busy handing out refunds. And DMX is said to be both upset and offended by the way he was treated.
