Last year saw the two reuniting for their first tour in nine years. Backing the sisters on the largely sold out monthlong run were Ben Smith (drums), Tom Kellock (keys), Scott Olson (guitar), and Mike Inez of Alice In Chains fame (bass).

Heart have recently been in the studio putting the finishing touches on their new album. The forthcoming disc, still nameless, is their first album of new music since the mid-‘90s. Last year, Heart released yet another “best of” – Essential Heart.

Although Heart has been on hiatus since 1993, the Wilson sisters have been anything but lazy during their time off. Together, they released three albums with their side project, Lovemongers, and played a smattering of one-off gigs.

Ann flexed her thespian muscle in The Vagina Monologues and toured with Beatles tribute show “A Walk Down Abbey Road.” She also underwent a dramatic weight-loss surgery, which was televised online. Thanks to the lap-band, Ann has lost 70 pounds and is an active spokesperson for the band system and weight loss.

Nancy, who is married to director Cameron Crowe, kept busy by scoring several of his films, including Vanilla Sky. She’ll be scoring Crowe’s upcoming film as well.
