Tracy Chapman Rains On
Tracy Chapman is dusting off her guitar and hitting American highways and byways this summer. It’s Chapman’s first outing in three years and finds her kicking things off June 7 in Washington. Several two-night stands are on the books, including San Francisco, Saratoga (Calif.), and Denver.
The outing was originally confined to the month of June, but Chapman has recently revealed plans to stretch things out another month.
All this touring business comes in support of her latest and sixth album, Let It Rain. The disc first saw daylight last October and sees Chapman returning to her more stripped-down roots.
Chapman last made the stage rounds in 2000. The year was a mix of headlining gigs – and shows supporting Sting.
