The outing launches July 19 at the Rock Fest 2003 in Wisconsin and snakes around the States through August. More shows are expected to be added to the Cabo Wabo Tequila and Jim Beam- sponsored tour, which will see the two acts flip-flopping closing duties.

Along with the two titans of rock, local bands can vie for a chance to win an opening slot on the tour’s second stage. Contest details will be announced at a later date.

To cap it all off, each stop offers souvenir shot glasses and other goodies on tap.

Skynyrd singer Johnny Van Zant recently spoke with Rolling Stone about the group’s new single, “Red, White And Blue” off their forthcoming album, Vicious Cycle.

“It’s a shot at anybody that wants to be against the United States and our troops,” he said about the song, “and it just really makes me angry whenever I see people going out of their way to cause us trouble. Say stuff about our president later, or don’t vote for him, but right now, stick behind him.”
