The two country music stars are teaming up for a tour that looks to launch somewhere around the start of July and run through November, although dates and cities are still being nailed down.

What doesn’t have to be nailed down is the venue. The Electric Barnyard Tour is rumored to be taking its own set up along, à la festival in a bag.

Stuart said the road show was created with the idea of bringing big name entertainment to areas that seldom host such events.

“I designed the event to play in small towns and rural atmospheres throughout America, taking various forms of country music back to the people,” he said.

“We’re going back to remember the forgotten ones,” added Haggard.

Scheduled to join the two country music veterans on select dates are BR-549, Connie Smith, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, and The Old Crow Medicine Show.

While fans are waiting for the full tour lineup, they can head on out to Roswell, N.M., for the first-ever UFO Music Fest. Headed by Haggard, the fest will feature Marty Stuart and Pam Tillis at the Bob Crosby Arena July 5.

The music fest is part of the Roswell UFO Festival 2003 “Experience Unknown,” which features the Plateau Wireless UFO electric light parade, classic sci-fi film festival, the alien costume contest and the 10K alien chase fun run.

Tickets for the UFO Music Fest are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, and are available through ufomusicfest.com.
