The Rolling Stones are headlining the Molson Canadian Rocks For Toronto event, but they’re only the icing on an already sweet cake. Other artists on the bill include AC/DC, The Guess Who, Justin Timberlake, Sam Roberts, The Flaming Lips, Kathleen Edwards, The Isley Brothers, Sass Jordan, and La Chicane.

Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi with “Have Love Will Travel” will host the concert, which will be held at Downsview Park.

“We’re looking forward to coming back to Toronto,” the Stones said. “We’ve rehearsed in Toronto for our last three tours and it is one of our very favorite cities. We’re really pleased to be part of an exciting event that will bring people back to Toronto.”

Starting at 2 p.m., Molson Canadian Rocks For Toronto will be an eight-hour musical event, topped off with a full set by The Rolling Stones. Apparently, in order to land the Stones to do the gig – who were in the middle of their European Licks tour – the band had to postpone one show and cancel another. Now, that’s dedication!

The concert is the second hosted by the city of Toronto in an effort to revive tourism. The area was hit hard by an outbreak of SARS.
