Save for a show in April of this year, this is Kelly’s first tour since 2001.

On the books are a total of seven shows, ranging from award show performances to slots on music festivals and taking Kelly from a casino in Las Vegas July 19 to arenas throughout the States from August 1-28.

Kelly’s tour plans also include a spot at the Detroit Music Festival at the start of August. Initially, there was a question whether he had permission to play. However, Kevin Brown, executive producer of the Detroit Music Festival said, “Without question, we are extremely excited about R. Kelly’s upcoming performance on … August 1.

“All procedures necessary for R. Kelly to perform in Detroit … have been completed and confirmed, and we are currently planning an exciting show for R. Kelly’s stage production, as well as, with our other performers.”

Prosecutors argued against Kelly exiting Illinois, since quarantine is part of his probation, but Judge Vincent Gaughan granted him leave. Kelly is said to be due back in court September 26.
