Nelson is headlining the Denim concert September 12 at The Pageant to benefit the St. Louis University Liver Center and the Julia Spears Foundation For Liver Disease.

Judd will be featured on the 13th at the Diamonds portion of the fundraiser. She is speaking at a black-tie dinner at the Ritz-Carlton in St. Louis.

Those attending the black-tie function will be able to participate in a raffle drawing for a two-carat diamond set in platinum. An auction highlight includes a guitar autographed by Nelson, Norah Jones, Kris Kristofferson, Lyle Lovett, Toby Keith and Sheryl Crow.

The cause is dear and near to both Nelson and Judd’s hearts.

“When I was diagnosed with hepatitis C in 1990, many doctors told me there was little to no hope for a treatment and that I would only live another three years,” Judd said. “But Dr. Bacon and his team at the St. Louis University Liver Center through new treatments on which he was working could halt the progression of the disease.

“Thanks to Dr. Bacon and his team, since May 1997, my blood tests have shown that the hepatitis is gone.”

Nelson’s involvement comes on behalf of his bassist Bee Spears. Spears’ wife, Julie, is being treated for hepatitis C by the physicians at St. Louis University Hospital.

General admission tickets for the September 12 concert are available at $65 through Ticketmaster.
