The band has announced their first tour in nearly one year. Dubbed the Room On Fire tour, after their forthcoming sophomore disc, The Strokes will take to theatres from East to West Coast and back again, starting October 9.

As rumored, the Kings Of Leon will indeed be supporting for the North American leg, as will Regina Spektor.

The Strokes also have plans to hit Europe in December, although venues have yet to be announced. Most of the major cities in and around the continent are on the itinerary, with a few U.K. gigs planned as well, including a two-night stand in London.

However, if you don’t see your hometown on the list, don’t cry just yet. According to the band, “we’ll come back and do more next year. So if your city is not there, we’re sorry we can’t make it this time. We’ll be through soon!”

Meanwhile, back on the Web site, The Strokes have put a little MP3 of their new single, “12:51,” up for a listen. That should tide fans over until Room On Fire gets released October 21.

Speaking of Strokes goodies online, it looks like everyone who’s subscribed to their mailing list will have first crack at tickets for the upcoming tour. Not only that, the stubs will come at a much lower service charge.
