The group is taking a mended Alien Ant Farm along for the ride, which stretches for six weeks from mid-October. According to 311’s Web site, they plan to be on the road through December, but dates for the second half of the outing have yet to be announced.

It’s not the first time the two bands have shared the same tour route together. Back in 2001, they teamed up an outing after the Vans Warped Tour, which they were both on as well.

They’ve also just completed separate outings over the summer. 311, as mentioned, just wrapped a tour that saw them playing exactly 1,000 songs, according to the band.

That time, they had G. Love & Special Sauce, O.A.R., Something Corporate, and DJP supporting. There are rumors DJP might kick it with 311 and Alien Ant Farm on this round, but nothing has been confirmed.

Alien Ant Farm, meanwhile, have been enjoying their return to the stage. As many fans are aware, they were forced off the road last year for a while when their tour bus crashed in Spain. The accident killed their bus driver and left lead singer Dryden Mitchell with a broken neck.

He has since recovered and after months of rehabilitative therapy, the band hit the road once again this summer.
