And it’s called The Greedy Bastard Tour.

“As long as there is an innocent nickel to be made from the gullible Python-starved public, I shall be out there, dressed in silly frocks, singing filthy lyrics,” Idle said.

He also bids concert-goers to follow his lead with a “dress strangely” invitation.

The Greedy Bastard Tour – yes, we like saying the title – launches at the start of October and runs through December, with a healthy mix of Canadian and American shows.

It’s been three years since Idle last toured the States. Back in 2000, he exploited “Monty Python” with a very silly evening of sketches and songs “ripped-off or entirely stolen from the sacred canon of the semi-legendary British comedy troupe.”

The Greedy Bastard Tour promises much of the same, with songs, skits, skirts, and all things funny. Idle will feature bits from his latest album, The Rutland Isles, with some help from alter egos John du Prez, Nigel Spasm, the Bruces, Sir Dirk McQuickly of The Rutles, Peter Crabbe, Jennifer Julian, and some mystery guests.
