With their sixth album, Dear Catastrophe Waitress, gearing up for release at the start of October, the group has a three-week tour booked for North America, starting October 26 in Atlanta.

Following their largely East Coast run – the band really doesn’t make it past the Mississippi River – Belle & Sebastian head back across the sea for a quick couple of weeks around the U.K.

Right about the time they’ll be thinking of packing their suitcases, they will release a retrospective DVD titled “Fans Only.”

Scheduled to hit shelves October 20, the disc is a record of development of the band during their time with record label Jeepster and features videos, performances, interviews, early documentary footage, and probably more information than you really wanted to know about the group.

The “Fans Only” compilation, it should be noted, is really only for those technologically advanced fans of Belle & Sebastian who own fancy DVD players, as it will not be released in VHS format.

Meanwhile, an old Belle & Sebastian member, Isobel Campbell, is readying her solo album for release. Campbell, a founding member, quit the band abruptly last summer while they were touring the States.

Her new disc, Amorino, is expected to be released in the U.S. October 7 and elsewhere around the world on the 27th.
