Kiss My Brass
Midler is set to introduce a new generation of music fans to Clooney’s classics when she sets out on her first tour in four years. The Kiss My Brass outing finds Midler playing Chicago December 10 and moving on to other arenas throughout the Midwest and East Coast into February. One show in Canada is also on the books.
Additional cities Midler expects to play include Dallas, San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, Tampa, Atlantic City, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C. Who knows – maybe she’ll even add a few more markets to the list.
The tour announcement coincides with the release of her latest album, Bette Midler Sings The Rosemary Clooney Songbook.
“I have loved Rosemary Clooney for as long as I can remember,” Midler wrote in the album’s liner notes. “She possessed one of the great American voices of the last century – full of warmth, sincerity and truth. Her intonation was impeccable, she never sang a false note, she radiated intelligence and good humor, and boy, could she swing!”
For the album, Midler reunited with original piano accompanist Barry Manilow, who produced her hit album Divine Ms. M.
