Arden and band make several two-night stops over the course of the tour, in Victoria, Nanaimo, Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa.

An exclusive ticket presale has been offered through her loveistheonlysoldier.com Web site. Fans with her new album, Love Is The Only Soldier, simply need to place the disc into a computer, enter their personal access code, and pop! they’re at the front of the ticket line.

Although it’s the seventh disc in Arden’s quiver, Love Is The Only Soldier marks many firsts. It’s the first time she’s produced her own album, the first time she’s used her band on a disc, and strangely enough, the first time she’s recorded in her basement.

It’s been a couple years since Arden last toured. But that’s plenty fine with her.

“It’s the best of both worlds – 95 percent my life, and 5 percent this,” Arden told the Canadian music rag Jam Music of her career. “I do press for three weeks every three years, and then disappear.

“I’m not Shania Twain – I just do my quiet dumb little songs and go and live my life.”

Her last big outing was in 2001 when she hit the major theatres and concert halls across Canada.
